Questions We Hear a Lot

How much will my move cost?

It depends on how much you have and the access, but local moves start at $145/hr for two movers and a truck, with an itemized written estimate before we lift a thing. Ask for a flat cap and the signed number is the most you pay. Long-distance is quoted by weight and miles.

How do you handle moving in the desert heat?

We start early, most summer jobs are loaded before the worst of the afternoon. The crew stays hydrated, we keep the truck shaded where we can, and we wrap heat-sensitive things like candles, electronics, and artwork so a 110-degree day does no harm.

My community is gated with an HOA. Can you deal with that?

All the time, it is most of the valley. Give us the gate and HOA details when you book and we handle the guard-gate list, the move-in window, and any COI or deposit the association wants, so nothing holds up the truck on the day.

I’m a seasonal resident. Can you help with a part-year move?

Absolutely. We move plenty of snowbirds in and out each season and work around your travel dates. Book early for the fall arrival and spring departure rushes, those weeks fill up fast out here.

When does billing start?

When the crew begins at your door, and after the first hour we bill by the minute, so you never pay a rounded-up hour for a few minutes of work. We tell you the crew rate and how drive time works before we start.

Is a deposit required?

Only a small, refundable one to lock the date, and it lands right on your final total as a credit. Give us 48 hours to cancel and you get it back in full. It is all on paper the day you book.

How and when do I pay?

After the job is done, never before. We take all major cards plus check or cash, and you okay the final total on site before the crew heads out.

Should I tip the movers?

Tips are never expected and never added to the bill. If the crew earned it, 10 to 15 percent split among them is common out here, cash or card, but it is always your call.

Is there anything you won’t move?

For safety and legal reasons we skip hazardous items, propane, paint, chemicals, ammo, plus perishables, houseplants, and pets. Flag anything oversized or high-value up front so we send the right crew and gear.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Dino’s Moving carries California household-goods authority and full insurance, and every job rides with our own crew the whole way, no broker in the middle. Ask for the authority and coverage details and we will go over valuation before you commit.

What if something gets damaged?

Padding and wrap keep it rare, but if it happens we document it on site and open the claim the same day. Before the move we explain basic versus full-value coverage so you know exactly how a claim works.

How far ahead should I book?

A week or two for most local moves. Season, summer, and month-end fill up, so give three to four weeks then, and a bit more around the snowbird rushes. Same-week dates still open up, so it never hurts to call.

Can you move a piano or a safe?

Yes, and by people who do it every week. A grand or an upright, a gun safe, an heirloom, or a framed canvas each rides on the proper board with the right straps and padding, and we build a crate to fit when a piece is worth it.

Will you pack for me?

As much or as little as you like. Want the whole house boxed? Done. Just the kitchen and the art? Also done. We show up with real cartons and paper, tag each box by room, and can unbox you at the new place too.

Do you move out of state?

We do, on our own truck with our own crew the whole way. No brokers, no reloading your things into a stranger’s trailer, and a delivery window you can plan around.

Do you offer storage?

We do. Short-term between seasons or long-term while you are away, the space is clean and secure, every item is logged, and our crew moves it in and back out so you never rent a truck twice.

Can I reschedule or cancel?

Of course. Move the date or cancel with at least 48 hours notice and the deposit is returned in full. Every term lives in your booking in plain writing, so nothing is left to guess.
